When I start virt-manager from GNOME desktop as a normal user, over VNC, the virt-manager gives error as shown in screen-shot, and explained in the log file:

Jul  9 00:37:01 training libvirtd: 00:37:01.811: error : remoteDispatchAuthPolkit:3432 : Policy kit denied action org.libvirt.unix.manage from pid 11588, uid 500, result: 256

Note:

  • Service libvirtd is already running and has been restarted a couple of times.
  • Removing .virt-manager directory in user home directory has not helped either

  • Updated libvirt, kernel and libvirt related python packages. did not help.
